Pointed, high-heel shoes, cowboy boots are mainly responsible. More frequent in women due to preference for high heels as well as looseness of structural anatomical ligaments. Moreover, as in many diseases, there is also a genetic predisposition. Hallux Valgus is more common in people with family history.
